The Wheel of Life
This is a life awareness and assessment exercise which we have done every year at our marriage retreat for many years. It can be done in 20-30 minutes, but provides a ton of perspective and opportunity to make constructive life changes.
Gratitude exercise
Laura learned about this gratitude practice from our good friend Patrick, who sustained a major brain injury in a bike crash, and whose recovery journey Laura talked about in season one, episode 43: Help. But as it turns out, what’s good for rebuilding neural connections and brain function after a diffuse axonal injury, is also good for building perspective for the rest of us.
Doing this gratitude practice each day only takes a few minutes, and has been a key survival tool for Laura throughout the pandemic.
