How to share the podcast (made easy)
How can I help spread the word about Shelter in Place?
Here are a few things we’ve found make a BIG difference:
1.Tell your family and friends about the episode! Nothing beats word of mouth!
2. Put the episode on your website.
3. Share this episode with your publisher and include it anywhere you promote your work.
4. Put a link to it in the footer of your email.
5. Share about the episode on social media and tag us! (tag us @PodcastShelter, @shelterinplacepodcast, @laurajoycedavis)
6. Leave us a rating and review on Apple Podcasts, Podchaser, or Goodpods.
What link should I use to share this episode?
There are two good options for this:
Podlink will give listeners the option to listen on all platforms:
The episode page on our website
I want to include the episode on my website. How do I do that?
We welcome and appreciate this, and have found it has a HUGE impact on how many people find us! Just copy and paste one of the following to embed the episode on your website:
To share an embed code with listeners or guests, follow these steps (note: these only work if your show is already on these platforms):
Apple:
Go to Market with Apple podcasts.
Look up your show.
You should see two lists, first with individual episodes, then below with show titles.
To embed a show player, click on your artwork, then scroll down to “Podcast Player” and copy embed.
To share one of your ten most recent episodes, look at (and expand if necessary) the list of episodes on your show page, click episode, then scroll down the copy embed.
To embed an older episode, search using your show title and the episode title.
Spotify:
Look up your show in the main search area.
Scroll down to find your show (music comes up before podcast in results.)
Click your artwork.
Click the three dots next to the “follow” button
Share / embed show.
Spotify lists all episodes on your show page, so to embed individual episodes, just scroll down, click that episode title, and then the same three dots.
(Note: Podlink doesn’t do embeds, just links.)
Still need help? Here’s an article that walks you through how to do this on Squarespace.
Can you give me a couple of sample captions/posts that I can copy and paste?
Of course! We don’t want to put words in your mouth, so please see these as a template to work from so you don’t have to start from scratch:
Sample Tweet/Post/Caption #1: What a joy to be on this wonderful narrative podcast! If you're looking for a delightful narrative podcast about reimagining life through creativity and community, I highly recommend Shelter in Place!
Sample Tweet/Post/Caption #2: Check out my conversation with @LauraJoyceDavis, where we talk about imposter syndrome, redefining success, and why our reasons for writing have changed in the 22 years since we first met.
